Species Name: Star Dreamer
Gender: Male And Female
Couplings:
Height: 2-10ft
Weight: 20-800lbs depending on the type
Niche: Star Dreamers usually find a human, usually a child, and then proceed to 'latch' onto them, almost like imprinting. When the child is asleep during times of distress the Star Dreamer will absorb the child's dream and manifest it into an orb, which is usually a mixture of crystalline shards and pieces of certain colors depending on the dream and emotions of the child.
Once it has the dream in it's grasp the Star Dreamer retracts their claws and proceed to pick out the dark shards, which represent negative emotions and nightmares. Once finished they'll then let the dream absorb back into the child, therefore replacing all the previous negative emotions with positive ones, providing the child with better emotional/mental health.
Once they see that the child is okay and taken care of for the time being, the Star Dreamer will then take the shards and leave it in front of a nearby cavern, where other Star Dreamers take the shards to 'Mother', who is the only Star Dreamer with enough power to purify the corrupted shards.

Color Guide:
Pastel Yellow~ Common-Commonly Seen

Physical Features

Marking(s):
Star Dreamers can have nearly any markings in the animal kingdom and then some, such as stars, planets, galaxies, constellations and clouds

Horns:
A Star Dreamer's horns can vary in size and position on the face. Most horns are found in the middle of their forehead, or on the sides. It is uncommon for Star Dreamers to have horns on their noses or cheeks. A Star Dreamer's are mostly used for show, rarely will they fight; the exception being to defend their pack, human, mate, or pup from other Star Dreamers causing trouble or even other humans hoping to catch some to use for shows or the circus.

Ears:
Their ears also vary in type, size, and length, depending wholly on genetics and environment

Eyes:
The eyes are always bi-colored, very rarely will it come in one solid color

The pupils also vary based on their rarity and surroundings, and how much light is received in their environment. A Star Dreamer whose eyes are Celestial or Starry will usually be found or originated from a semi dark environment with little light. While a Star Dreamer with solid black/white eyes will be originated from a completely dark environment.

Tails:
Long tails of a Star Dreamer are quite common, and usually reflect their current mood. Star Dreamers with short tails are usually those with more grace and ability to run and dodge predators/competitors.

Paws/Pads:
The paw pads of a Star Dreamer are tough enough to withstand biting rocks and sharp crystals of their habitats. Yet soft enough to caress a child or pup.

Blood/Blush/Spit/Tears:
Their blood is usually one solid color, differing from one Star Dreamer to the next. AS well as their blood, their tongues, eyes, paw pads, spit, blush, and tears are also the same color, as these parts are just thin skin/muscle and can be seen easily.

Overall

Gender:
A Star Dreamer can be a male or female, but they are intelligent enough to decide which gender they like to go by.

Orbs:
The orbs the Star Dreamer's create start out either as balls of light, with a mix of different colors depending on the dream their human child is having. Once they have the dream in their grasp, they extend their claws, picking out the bits of pieces of darkness from the dream until it is purified, after that is completed they carefully give the dream back, most Star Dreamer's feeling satisfied and accomplished at having helped their human.

Environment/Diet:
Star Dreamer's live mostly in crystal caves or watery caverns surrounded by forest. They like to have the advantage of many hiding spots and can usually be found creeping in the shadows if they're feeling wary of an intruder or their surroundings.

Their diet consists of meat and plants, usually small prey and berries will suffice.

Behavior:
Intelligence/Communication
A human's intelligence are rivaled only by a Star Dreamers. These creatures are self aware, able to know they are a separate being from others, and able to solve most problems as a human/ child would in general. They are unable to talk, only communicating by growls and purrs, like that of a cat.

Concerning both genders, when a Star Dreamer is looking for attention or wanting to have their friend/lover acknowledge them they'll make a sound akin to a baby bird chirping.

Mating
Bang bang a pup is born

Haha no, what really happens is that a male will approach the female and leave her gifts of shiny things, such as rocks, minerals, crystals, and other odd little things to try and impress her, often arranging these items in such a way that they'll resemble little pictures or memories of what they've seen. Some Star Dreamers, if they really appreciate or know the female well from their childhood, will perhaps take a bad dream from their human child, purify it, and give it to her in an array of swirling colors and dancing lights. But this is only done with childhood sweethearts and deep sentiments towards the other Star Dreamer.

This courting is also by Star Dreamers of the same gender. Males however, will place themselves a fair distance from the one they are courting and actively take guard, scaring off other males and leaving gifts of food, shiny objects, and protection, showing what a good provider they'll be. If the one being courted accepts, they'll rub noses and usually have a nap in the sun, actively rubbing/rolling over on the other to let their scents mingle and others know they're taken.

Females however, are harder to please. Because of their keener sense of smell than males, choosing a female partner is usually based more upon scent than sight. Of course they still court the same way, but instead of many of the gifts being shiny objects they'll give gifts of sweet smelling flowers, not too strong, and not too faint. They may also give some sweet, sugary berries and branches of fresh pine. If a female is impress by her suitor's gifts, being the more affectionate gender of the species  they'll rub noses, and lazily play wrestle, occasionally nuzzling against the other sweetly. If the females desire a pup, they will o and find a male to mate with before returning to their mate. Said mate rubbing herself against her partner to reclaim her scent on her loved one's fur.

Pups
When a Star Dreamer is about to give birth to a pup, usually only 1-3 pups, it will leave it's human's home and search for a safe place to raise it's pup. Usually the said place will be a large crystal cave or watery cavern, one with little to a lot of light. She will usually find a place within the cave to make a comfortable nest of sorts and await the birth of her pup.

A pup's call sounds like that of a fawn, a loud shrill sound to call for its mother in times of distress or hunger. A full fledged adult's call varies on gender. A male's call is akin to a deep roar or growling, similar to a lion. Female's however have a higher pitch, their shrill banshee like call even known to crack the crystals of some of their caves. Their call is used to ward of predators, humans, and males who might hurt the pup.

When a pup is first born it is blind and deaf for up to 2 weeks. After the two week period it is then able to see but not hear. This is because the mother's call, which is like that of a banshee, could actually hurt the pup. The pup finds it's way around by sight and feeling the vibrations through the ground. A mother will usually stand close by so the pup can learn to memorize and recognize her heartbeat and sounds before thinking of straying further into their cave.

After a few more weeks the pup's ears will be developed enough to withstand their mother's shriek and be able to go outside for the first time with her. A month or two later she'll take them with her to go back to her human's home or pack and raise them there.

Social

Hierarchy
Alpha - Usually a mated pair or one that has proven themselves of good leadership
Beta - Second in command, usually a friend from when he/she was a pup
Delta - Warriors/Guards, protectors of the pups and elders, usually consists of females and a male here and there
Omega - Pups and elders

Packs
Number(s): 3-10 Star dreamers normally

Uncommonly seen are groups of Star Dreamers in packs, which usually only happens when a group is born in an area where humans are rarely seen and therefore unable to latch on any children. They live in huge crystal caverns with enough water to support them and in forest with plenty of food.

Tactile
Star Dreamers are extremely tactile, any form of interaction usually involves touch of some kind, whether it be just a nudge or taking naps on each other. Especially towards their mate and pups, at which point you won't see one without the other.
